BS101 Beginner Blacksmithing is a 2 day weekend course designed to teach the basics of blacksmithing. This course starts at 9 a.m. and ends at 5 p.m. on both days.

Trade item - A cooking utensil

Description: Make tooling to forge jingle bells for the holidays. Create your own designs, forge the bells, attach stems and ringers. Each student will have the opportunity to make five jingle bells. Class time 9am-5pm each day

Prerequisites: You must have taken Blacksmithing 101 or have equivalent experience equal to at least 16 hours of forging time.

Please join us on November 22nd at the Bear Branch Nature Center for our annual holiday party. Setup for the event begins at 4pm with dinner shortly after 5pm. The guild will provide main dishes, drinks and tableware. We are asking that you bring a favorite side dish or dessert.

This course starts at 9 a.m. and ends at 5 p.m. on both days.

Trade item - Valentines Theme

BS101 Beginner Blacksmithing is a 2-day weekend course designed to teach the basics of blacksmithing. Trade item - Drift a hole, use a rivet or tenon for connection

You will forge a wrapped eye tomahawk using mild steel to form the eye and body and then forge weld a high carbon bit, cutting edge into the blank. Hickory handles will be provided. There may be time to forge more than one tomahawk or try a farrier’s rasp or wrought iron. PREREQUISITE: BS 101 or equivalent. Successful forge welding experience is highly recommended. Class time 9am-5pm each day.
