BS101 Beginner Blacksmithing is a 2-day weekend course designed to teach the basics of blacksmithing. From forge and fire control to hammer control you will learn to forge a fish tail scroll, pig tail scroll, tab hook, drive hook, forge poker, watering can handle, and other student selected projects as time permits. This course starts at 9 a.m. and ends at 5 p.m. on both days.
2026 Holiday Party
Please join us on November 21st at the Bear Branch Nature Center for our annual holiday party. Setup for the event begins at 4pm with dinner shortly after 5pm. The guild will provide main dishes, drinks and tableware. We are asking that you bring a favorite side dish or dessert.

Description – BS 202 Making Tongs is a 2-day weekend course designed to teach the basics of making a set of tongs. In this class, the student will make the tools needed to make a set of tongs, then use the tools to make a set of bolt tongs. This course starts at 9 a.m. and ends at 5 p.m. on both days.

Show Highlights: Exhibits including, Steam Engines (Traction, Portable and Stationary) Gas Engines, Tractors, Saw Mill, Threshing, Shingle Mill & Rock Crusher Demonstrations Daily. Huge Flea Market/Crafts area 200+ Vendors, All exhibits are open from 9 a.m. each day – Show closes on Sunday – 4:00 P.M. Food served daily from breakfast until dusk at the Main Kitchen and the Pit Beef/Ham Kitchen
