Magic from Fire   The Artistry of    Samuel Yellin

Bouquets of Dragons and a Ship Above the Gate at 10 Light Street   Animal heads, specifically dragons,  were a common minor decorative element in much of Yellin’s work.   The reason for the ship is not known.

Driving in Baltimore City is not my favorite activity for a Saturday morning.  However since I grew up in Washington D.C., I lead a small caravan of BGCM members to the B&O Museum for a day of demonstration.  On the trip down we had a slight detour; the Baltimore Marathon.  It was a lot more exciting than I thought it would be to watch some 12,000 runners go by in 45 minutes.  I knew about 5 people in the marathon but never saw them.  Finally we arrived at the B&O railroad Museum.

We had three hot forging stations set up under a pavilion
